Law Day: Commemorating the Constitution at our Courthouses

The Great American Experiment is our common, ongoing journey as a Democratic Republic. The Rule of Law is the life blood that sustains and propels the Great American Experiment by guaranteeing freedom, equality and justice in the United States.

The Rule of Law is enshrined in the Constitutions of the United States and each individual state. Law Day is a day intended for us to reflect upon and honor our Constitution and the Rule of Law, and our democracy.

Law Day 2025

The Rule of Law is on life support. Law Day 2025 is a call to action to lawyers and others in the legal system, public service, academia and anyone who cares about the rule of law.

Join us on Law Day 2025 if you support:

  • An independent judiciary.
  • The protection of attorneys and law firms from unlawful attacks
  • The preservation and perpetuation of due process of law.
  • Freedom of Speech and Association

What You Can Do:

  • Organize a short gathering outside your county courthouse at noon on May 1st, or simply gather a few colleagues and go to the courthouse steps. (Check with the Chief Judge, Presiding Judge or Court Administrator for the District or County Court in your County.)
  • Read the Constitution aloud (individually, as a group, or round-robin style). Suggestions for specific provisions can be found under the Resources page.
  • Invite colleagues, friends, and members of the public to join.
  • Share photos and reflections on social media using #LawDayCO.
  • Forward this email to your professional and personal networks—especially to lawyers and legal professionals in counties other than your own across Colorado.
